Welcome to New Hope Ministries Inc. website. We invite you to journey with us as we adhere to God’s will towards the plight of widows and orphans in our different communities, especially in the rural areas where abhorrent cultures have been a means to mistreat this vulnerable populations. Allow me to share with you the path that New Hope Ministries has taken in meeting its objectives, the challenges we face and our invitation of fellowship for the growth of this ministry.
For many years, the plight of widows and orphans had laid heavily on my wife’s and my heart. Over the years, we have been a source of encouragement to this vulnerable population through biblical scripture, distributed food and clothing and other basic necessities as the Lord enabled us.
The ministry for widows and orphans was birthed in our hearts in 1996, by the Spirit of God. The Lord has given us direction to bring new hope and restoration to these under-privileged individuals through His Word. Through much prayer and thanksgiving, we received the Lord’s blessing to start this ministry. Through His blessing also we are reminded to “Keep doing what you are already doing and He will direct [our] part.”
Therefore, we continued in our modest efforts and as more widows began fellowshipping with us, our need to accommodate them became greater. Our need for space was accommodated by various community pastors in order to commune and minister to those in need. In 2002, we joined Family Life Fellowship, a division of the Four Square Church, where Senior Pastor, Agabus Lartey was pleased and truly committed to supporting this ministry through advocating for additional resources and financial assistance as well as his personal contributions. The ministry was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2007, and approved for non-profit status under the Internal Revenue Code( 501 © 3)
As the ministry continues to expand, we seek to empower these under-privileged populations by providing them with sustainable means of living. New Hope Ministries Inc. collaborates with other organizations and governments to develop mechanized farming and other infrastructures that will give opportunity for employment and to produce abundant food crops and poultry products for various communities. In addition, we seek to grow the ministry to provide scholarships to the orphans to secure them adequate learning and educational opportunities.
In order to meet the challenges and growing demands of those in need in accomplishing what God has called us to do, we solicit the support of anyone who is willing to move the ministry forward through collaboration and partnerships that aim to provide services that advance opportunities for widows and orphans; opportunities such as employment and/or training. We look to increase the number of consistent monthly financial contributors as well as to cultivate new donors who believe in our mission and vision for this underserved population. There are many other ways to support this ministry. (Please visit our “donate” link for more information.) More importantly, we need YOU, God’s people to stand with us in prayer.
God is mindful of widows and orphans and wants to use His children to minister to them. Ministry for the widows and orphans is His heartbeat and He rewards everyone who diligently obeys His calling to work in His vineyard. The scripture says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. (Is. 1:17) The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. (Ps. 146:9) Pure and undefiled religion before God and the father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.(James 1:27)” Let’s join our hands and hearts together and do the work of the Lord.
I am encouraged by your concern and support. May God bless and keep you.
Herbert Uzochukwu, President.
Our vision is to fulfill the divine mandate to defend and assist widows and orphans in their affliction through education, awareness and empowerment to reclaim their rightful scriptural heritage. This is in obedience to God's commandments in the scriptures (James 1:27)
We will provide opportunities for churches to fulfill the biblical mandate towards widows, orphans and the less privilaged in our society especially in the places where abhorrent cultures have been a means to mistreat the defenseless populations.
